all in all playa del carmen was a very fun experience. the resort we stayed at, mahekal beach resort, was very nice. it had really nice rooms... a perfect beach.... close to the hustle and bustle but not right in the middle of it either.... very peaceful and friendly. 5th avenue was a blast... so much going on there.... everyone friendly. there were so many people from all over the world. if you go to playa and stick to 5th ave almost everyone speaks pretty good english, and many speak great english. we went to cozumel island one day and rented a scooter. we went snorkeling. it was so amazing. then we drove all the way around the island and caught the ferry back to playa. the beach was absolutely perfect. the water was warm and clear. the sand was beautiful and soft. it was hot and sunny. the water was very warm and calm when we went snorkeling. i saw lots of coral and so many beautiful fish. what a great experience. i hope we get to snorkel again before we leave.
