finding autumn

the weather here has felt more like summer than autumn lately... but i do feel that subtly starting to shift. we see it in the foggy mornings... we see it in the trees... and now we see it in our home. oh, how i love their excitement for seasonal decorating. especially this year as we bring out the art they made when they were "little" and hang it with the rest of the decorations. i also can't seem to visit a grocery store (with kids in tow) and leave without a pumpkin... or a gourd... or some fabulous winter squash.yes, little bits of autumn here and there... i love it.
and i will take whatever "summer" weather comes my way, because i know that very soon it will be gone... and after a few months i will really start to miss it.

  1. Your girl did the leaf stamp? On her own? She must get the skill from her mother :-) The leaf looks great! It's not child labor if they think it's fun while they're doing it, right? ;-)

  2. :) the first leaf stamp photo was mine, and the leaf stamp photo that came after the photos of my daughter carving is the one that she made, and she really did make it all by herself! she really caught me by surprise. i didn't expect it to turn out so nice.
