on my desk...
katrina's free online course was fabulous.... and it really inspired me to mend again (and enjoy it)
updating our little school "record" books... a wonderful (and simple) way to keep a record of the year to year changes.
everything is changing quickly now.
the weather has taken a chilly turn, and the days are noticeably short.
the last batch of apple juice will be pasteurized and bottled today, marking the end of our harvest.
winter clothes have come out and summer clothes have been put away.
and christmas is constantly creeping into our thoughts and conversations.
i seem to get the christmas spirit a bit earlier each year now... i love this season.
a few things that have been inspiring me lately...
a few things that have been inspiring me lately...
- amanda's recent (in person) craft swap.... find the post here
- some recipes... chanterelle mushroom and lentil stew from dishing up the dirt and maple glazed roasted delicata squash and brussels sprouts from simply recipes... delicious and beautiful
- i plan to make bird feeding, outdoor, winter decorations as soon as it's cold enough... found some fantastic inspiration for that here, here, and here
- loving these little christmas elves from magic cabin
- and i started my annual christmas gift... the family photo calendar... found a new place that i love http://www.mixbook.com/ and i'm using this template
what is inspiring you right now?
That last picture is so sweet. I really love those Christmas elves too!
ReplyDeletei know! i think i need some for my mantel :) and thank you!
ReplyDeleteThese photos melt my heart. I love that your family pegs are getting so much play. I've been mending all sorts of things too!
ReplyDeleteHi Jenny,
ReplyDeleteGlad to have found your blog! Look at all those beautiful blonde haired kiddos! You have your hands full with love and activity, as do I.
Our mending pile always fills up this time of year while I'm busy making holiday gifts. In the back of my mind I picture all of those well loved items in my hands--the stitches and patches reminders of life lived, and more to come. Can't wait to spend some time with them once the gifting is mostly done and the Holy Nights are upon us.
summer! oh my! we love them so! did i ever tell you that we had one of those melissa and dougish type of families before and they never got any use at all... and because of it our dollhouse didn't get any use. but your dolls are one of the most loved toys in our home now... we adore them.
ReplyDeletecocoreinhart... lovely to find you as well... i love your thoughts on mending.... and just thinking of your words "and the holy nights are upon" warm my heart :)
ReplyDeleteYou have a beautiful family. I thought I spied Summer's peg people in the photo...just lovely!
